What he is building
One platform that runs the whole business
Orcaa is the answer to a gap he kept meeting: independent businesses with enterprise problems and none of the budget. It runs bookings, point of sale, inventory, customer records, invoicing, team management and reporting, in Arabic and English, priced for a business that has an owner rather than a procurement department.
It is built solo and self funded from Cairo, which is a constraint and a decision. Nothing ships because an investor wanted a metric, and every business type on the platform is there because a real owner asked for it.
The Orcaa story
The path here
Enterprise platforms first, then the businesses they ignored
For years he built management systems for other companies. The independent businesses he met along the way had the same problems and none of the budget, and that gap became Orcaa.
Enterprise platforms for other companies
A group-wide CRM for calls and support, a residential community platform with strict multi-role access, and clinic scheduling with interactive dental charting, built in a six-engineer team.
Teaching the next cohort
Live sessions and one to one code reviews that took students from zero to shipping their own projects, plus the curricula and challenge engine behind the diplomas.
A second venture in fashion
Co-founder of Aera, an Egyptian contemporary fashion brand, where he leads brand and digital direction and builds the commerce platform himself.
How he works
Four rules that shaped Orcaa
The product stays coherent because one person decides what ships, and every decision is visible in the software owners use each morning.
One person decides what ships
The backend, the apps, the copy in two languages and the support replies come from the same hands. That is why Orcaa reads like one product instead of a pile of features.
Self funded is a constraint and a decision
Nothing ships because an investor wanted a metric. Speed comes from owners asking for something and seeing it in the next release.
Every business type exists because an owner asked
Salons, clinics, gyms, law firms, shops, restaurants and cafés each got their tools after a real owner needed them, not after a market map suggested them.
Transparency is a by-product of architecture
Orcaa publishes the live status of every component. Independently deployable services made that possible, and publishing it keeps the architecture honest.
Writing
Notes from building for independent businesses
Short essays on product, architecture and selling to owners, first shared on LinkedIn and kept here in full.
Zero-friction UX is not a luxury in B2B
Someone who spends eight hours a day inside your system does not need buttons that work. They need software that never makes them wait
Transparency is a by-product of good architecture
Why Orcaa publishes the live status of every component, and why that only became possible once the platform was split into independently deployable services
Cold calls did not work. Showing up did
What changed when I stopped phoning business owners and started opening a laptop in front of them
